Funeral services for Charles Adney Stowe, Jr., 67, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at First Methodist Church Bridgeport. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., one hour before the service. A private interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas.
Adney Stowe went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 26, 2026. Born on January 14, 1959, in Fort Worth, Adney lived a life shaped by faith, family, hard work, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple things that made life meaningful.
Adney spent his career working in the oilfield, where his strong work ethic and honest nature were evident to everyone who knew him. He believed in doing things the right way and took great pride in providing for the people he loved.
Outside of work, Adney enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, spending time with his family, and taking the back roads with his faithful dog, Willie. He especially loved a good campfire and could always be counted on to share a memorable story. His quick wit, infectious laugh, and unmistakable sense of humor brought smiles to nearly every room he entered.
Above all else, Adney was a man of God. His faith guided his life and shaped the way he treated others—with compassion, honesty, kindness, and love. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence made life better for those around him.
While his family will deeply miss his laughter, his stories, and the time they shared together, they find comfort in knowing that Adney is now at peace and in the presence of the Lord.
Adney was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jiggs and April Stowe.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 45 years, Laurey Stowe, along with his children, Levi Stowe and his wife Kelly, and Skyler Stowe and his wife Yesenia. He was also the proud and loving grandfather of Graham, Foster, Theo, and Addison, all of whom brought tremendous joy and pride to his life.
Adney is also survived by his beloved sisters, Kammy Blevins and her husband, Lonnie, of Dean, Tx, and Jill Rowan and her husband Brent, of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, as well as their children, whom he loved as his own.
Adney leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and family that will continue through all those who were blessed to know and love him.
