Cary Ray Cox was born to James and Rachel (Bill) Cox on November 3, 1949, in Bridgeport, Texas, and passed away in Fort Worth, Texas, on February 10, 2026. Cary worked tirelessly and took pride in all he did, yet always made time for family, fun, and the moments that mattered most.

After graduating from high school, Cary Cox proudly served his country in the Army for two years. Upon completing his military service, Cary returned to his hometown of Bridgeport, Texas. He began working at Gifford-Hill in Chico, Texas, which is now known as Heidelburg. Cary dedicated forty-four years to the company and retired as a Master Equipment Operator. When Cary wasn’t operating his shovel, he could be found boating on the lake, messing around in his shop, building decks, and putting up fences. He also loved to cook and entertain for his family and friends.

After retirement, Cary threw away the alarm clock and slept in most mornings. He also spent time at home with his family at the pool, chauffeuring his best buddy, grandson J.T. Cox, to and from school, and the occasional family vacation.

Cary is preceded in death by his parents, James and Rachel (Bill) Cox, and brother-in-law, Don Stinnett.

Those left to cherish Cary’s memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Katrina Cox of Bridgeport, Texas; son, Brian Cox and wife, Amanda; daughter, Tracie Finstad; brother, Al Cox and wife, Brenda; sister, Patsy Stinnett; grandson, J.T. Cox; and a host of extended family and friends.
