Carolyn Sue (Robinson) Thompson was born on April 18, 1939, in Chico, Texas, to Melvin and Ruth (Dickinson) Robinson. She peacefully passed away on April 9, 2026, in Weatherford, Texas. Carolyn lived a full and joyful life, filled with love for her family and friends.
In 1974, Carolyn married Jack Thompson. They shared 20 happy years together until Jack’s passing. Carolyn was well known in her community for her work in the antique resale business. She had a creative spirit and loved spending time doing the things she enjoyed most. Painting brought her joy, as did going to garage sales, playing the guitar, playing slots, scrolling through Facebook, and bowling. Her lively personality touched many people around her.
Carolyn was honored as Mother of the Year, a title she held proudly for 70 years running. She loved life deeply and cherished her friends and beloved cardinals and hummingbirds, which would visit her every day. She had a special connection to her vibrant rose bushes, which she carefully tended ever since planting them seven years after receiving her cancer diagnosis. These roses will stand as a beautiful reminder of our wonderful mom and her loving heart.
Known for her kind and open-hearted nature, Carolyn embraced all who knew her with warmth and generosity. Words cannot express how much she will be missed by everyone—her family, friends, and community alike. She is now at peace, resting in God’s loving arms.
Carloyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Thompson; daughter, Shelley Minyard; parents, Melvin and Ruth Robinson; and brothers, Gerald Robinson, Melvin Robinson, Charles Robinson, Jimmy Robinson, Don Robinson, Paul Robinson, and Joe Robinson; sisters, Lavanna Thornton, Lucille Massey, and Rita Strong.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Lealon Graham, Gregory Graham, and Mark Thompson; daughters, Debra Youngblood, Kathy Brewer, and Kaye O’Donell; brothers, Stan Robinson, Richard Robinson, David Robinson; grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Jason, Kyle, Preston, Taylor, Brandon, Courtney, Jackie, Melissa, Tiffany, Ashley, Sten, and Willow; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
