Carla S. Larkin

Memorial Services for Carla S. Larkin, 74, of Runaway Bay, Texas, will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Doctor Mitch Randall will officiate.

Carla Sue Larkin of Runaway Bay, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 30, 2025.

Carla was born on August 2, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Herbert and Carlene Sheffield. She graduated from East Central High School in 1969 and went on to work for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

In 1971, she married the love of her life, Barry Larkin. Together they shared 54 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. They were blessed with two sons, Ken and Levi.

In 1974, Carla and Barry moved to Texas, where Carla began providing in-home childcare. For more than 30 years, she lovingly cared for children, creating a warm and nurturing environment until her retirement in 2005.

After retiring, Carla and Barry enjoyed traveling the country in their travel trailer, taking road trips and cruises together. One of their favorite destinations was Roaring River State Park, their “home away from home,” where they spent time year after year.

Above all, Carla cherished time with her family—especially her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nana. Her family was her greatest joy, and she filled their lives with warmth and love.

Carla is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Barry Larkin. She is survived by her sons, Ken and wife Stayci, and Levi and wife Lauren; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
