IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brent
Parker
March 16, 1967 – February 1, 2026
Memorial services for Brent Parker, 58, of Prosper, Texas, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Zion Valley Cumberland Church in Chico, Texas, with a graveside service immediately following. For Valentine’s Day, red attire is encouraged.
Brent Parker, age 58, passed away after a courageous battle with glioblastoma, terminal brain cancer on February 1, 2026. He was born in Bowie, Texas, on March 16, 1967, and was raised in Decatur and Alvord, Texas.
In high school, Brent was known as a talented and well-rounded athlete. He played both basketball and football and was especially recognized for his skills on the football field as number 82, playing tight end. Beyond athletics, he showed bulls in FFA and, earlier on, even played the tuba in middle school. His athletic ability and determination emerged early and remained defining traits throughout his life.
Brent graduated from Tarleton State University in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. His love of learning never faded, and later in life he continued his education through Harvard Business School Online. He was an avid reader who enjoyed all types of books, and his study at home is lined with shelves of all the books he read.
Brent was a man of quiet determination and deep love for his family. He found peace in running, often logging three miles a day, and over the years completed numerous marathons and half marathons. He never shied away from a challenge, whether it was climbing Mount Elbert in Colorado, or riding in the Hotter‘N Hell bike race.
For more than 35 years, Brent dedicated his life to the insurance industry, starting as a Claims Adjuster and steadily working his way up to Director of Claims, eventually finishing his career as a Claims Consultant. Throughout his career, his consistency, integrity, and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients.
Above all else, Brent was proud of his family. He loved being a son, brother, husband, father, uncle and especially a grandfather. His steady presence, quiet strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Brent is survived by his loving parents, Judy and Donnie Parker; his wife of 25 years, Cindy Parker; his daughter, Kendall Parker (23); son-in-law, Trevor Marcinko (33); his grandson, Kale (13); his granddaughters, Nayvie (5) and Emryn (2); and his sister and brother-in-law, Donnette and Larry Hicks. He was preceded in death by his daughter, LaToya Marcinko, who passed away on October 22, 2024.
Faith was an important part of Brent’s life. He was baptized at Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Chico, Texas, where he has been serving as an elder for many years. The church, built in 1894, held a special place in his heart and remains in need of repairs. In lieu of flowers, Brent wished for donations to be made to Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church in support of preserving the place that meant so much to him.
