Bobby Allman

A memorial service for Bobby E. Allman, 78, of Bridgeport will be Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 am in the chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Dr. Craig Erb. He passed away in Decatur Sunday, July 10. Bobby was born in Baird, Texas November 12, 1937 to Thurman Lee and Thelma Margaret (Evans) Allman. He graduated from Albany High School in Albany, Texas in 1956, where he earned achievements and awards such as All State Quarterback. He attended McMurry College in Abilene, Texas. Bobby and his high school sweetheart, Lynda Lynch (he was a football player, she was a majorette) married July 22, 1957 in Albany. During their 58 years of marriage, the couple produced two children, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Before moving to Bridgeport in 1985, Bobby, Lynda and children lived in Odessa, Texas, where he was a member of the First Baptist Church, and a 32nd degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife Lynda Allman; son Mark Allman and wife Kathy; daughter Sherri Allman; grandchildren Jennifer Dehart and husband Chris, and Matthew Allman; and great-grandchild Haylen Dehart. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jimmy Allman and Davis Allman, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Ed and Florence Lynch.
