Funeral services for Betty (Deatherage) Waldrep, 78, of Denton, Texas, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with burial to follow at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the funeral home. David Mosley will officiate.
Betty Louise (Deatherage) Waldrep, age 78, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, just one day before her 79th birthday. She was born on July 18, 1946, in Bridgeport, Texas, to W.O. and Tressie Deatherage.
Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Joe Keith Waldrep. She is also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Myrna Coffee; and her brothers, Donald Deatherage and Truman Deatherage. Betty is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Rhonda and Daryl Albritton of Beebe, Arkansas; Judy and Lee Stelzer of Greenville, Texas; Wendy and Miguel Ortega of Dallas, Texas; and Angela Barfield of Denton, Texas. Betty is also survived by her brothers Robert Deatherage, Lester Deatherage, and Travis Deatherage.
Lovingly known as “Grandma Betty,” she leaves behind a lasting legacy through her 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Betty’s passing.
Even when her memories wandered, her love never did.
