Graveside services for Barbara Raymer, 85, of Bridgeport, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Wilson Prairie Cemetery in Bridgeport. David Mosley will be officiating.
Barbara Ella Raymer, born on July 30, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, in Bridgeport, Texas. She was the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Jewell) Knotts.
Throughout most of Barbara’s life, she worked as a cook. She found joy in simple pleasures like gardening, cooking, walking, and solving word searches. These activities brought her peace and happiness in her daily life.
Barbara will be remembered for her quiet strength and the everyday pleasures she embraced. Her life touched those who knew her, and she will be missed.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond John Marshall; second husband, JD Raymer; daughter, Mae Agnes Marshall; and six siblings.
Those left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her sons, Raymond “Brother” Eugene Marshall (with wife Mary) and Robert “Rowdy” Earl Marshall; her daughter, Laura Ann Fitzgerald (with husband B.J.); her brothers, Tom Knotts and James Knotts; her sisters, Nancy Troutt and Dianne Rushing; along with 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
