A Celebration of Life for Anita Meyer Neal, 60, of Paradise, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Dr. Bill Hughes will officiate.
Anita Johnette (Gillenwater) Meyer Neal was born July 22, 1965, in Tulia, Texas, to Johnny and Vesta (Wright) Gillenwater, and passed away September 28, 2025, in Paradise, Texas.
Anita was a beloved wife, mother and friend. Her happiest times were when she was surrounded by her family. Anita adored her 5 dogs, and spent time doting on and caring for every single one as though they were the only “dogchild.” She loved reading and enjoying her morning coffee outside while bird watching and tending to her flower beds.
Anita was extremely intelligent and spent most of her career in the medical billing field, with the last 10 years of it working as an office manager at her son’s business. The time spent working with both her children was something she really cherished.
Anita's legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for the kindness and warmth she shared with everyone around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Vesta Gillenwater and brother, Terry Gillenwater.
Those left to cherish Anita’s memory are her husband of 25 years, John Neal; son, Zane Meyer and wife Taylor, granddaughter Lillian Meyer; daughter, Bridget Williams and husband Ray, granddaughters Jaelen Williams and Anderson Williams; stepmother, Karen Gillenwater; sister, Becky Wilson and husband Joe Marr, niece Jodi Wilson; stepbrothers, Neal Sharp and wife Liz and Ray Sharp and wife Liz; stepsister, Rhonda Hazelwood; and host of friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Wise County Animal Shelter at: P.O. Box 899 Decatur, TX, 76234, or her personal favorite, Schnauzer Rescue of Texas at: https://schnauzerrescuetexas.me/
